What we do

Craft Matters actively promotes and manages projects that support craftspeople in their trade, encourage people to learn more about crafts or supportive community for craft skills.

One way we do this is by running workshops. These range from those that provide an opportunity to learn from craft experts, to those that teach practical skills such as bookkeeping to help craftspeople in their trade.

Other projects we are currently considering or working on include:

• The creation of a database to help link craftspeople and those needing their skills

• The arrangement of work placements for school children in craft businesses

• Opening an online shop selling hand crafted products

• Arranging an exhibition on craft in art
